How the Callaway range is structured

Start with the family, not the model. Callaway sorts almost everything into a small number of ranges, and once you know which range you are in, the choice inside it is short.

Quantum is the game-improvement line. Quantum drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and irons. If you want the ball to go further and straighter without thinking about it, look here first. Max is the standard head, Max D adds draw bias, and Triple Diamond drops spin for faster swings.

Apex is the players line. Apex AI300 and AI150 forged irons, plus the Apex utility wood and utility iron. Thinner toplines, forged feel, more control over shot shape. Generally single-figure handicaps.

Opus is the wedge line. Opus SP and Opus SP+ for spin and control, Full Toe SP for open-face shots, CB12 for forgiveness.

Putters are Odyssey. Odyssey is Callaway's putter brand rather than a separate company, and it is where every Callaway putter lives. Ai-One, Ai-DUAL, Tri-Hot, DFX and Toulon are all Odyssey lines.

• Chrome Soft, Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X are the tour golf balls. Chrome Soft is the softest, Chrome Tour spins more, Chrome Tour X is firmer and launches lower.
• Supersoft, ERC Soft and Warbird are the rest of the ball range, from soft feel down to two-piece distance.

Callaway is unusually strong at both ends of the bag.
