Our take on Callaway wedges

Most bags want two or three wedges spaced four to six degrees apart. Check your pitching wedge loft before you buy anything, because modern iron sets are a lot stronger than they used to be and the gap below them is where shots go missing.

Common questions

How many wedges do I need?

Two or three, spaced four to six degrees apart. If your pitching wedge is 44 degrees, a 50 and a 56 covers most of what you need, and a 60 only if you will actually use it.

Opus or Full Toe?

Opus SP for full shots and control from the fairway. Full Toe SP if you play a lot of open-face shots around the green or spend time in soft sand. CB12 if you want a wedge that forgives a thin strike.
