Our take on TaylorMade wedges

Most bags want two or three wedges with even gaps of four to six degrees. Check your pitching wedge loft before you buy anything, because modern iron sets are a lot stronger than they used to be and the gap below them is where shots go missing.

Common questions

How many wedges do I need?

Two or three, spaced four to six degrees apart. If your pitching wedge is 44 degrees, a 50 and a 56 covers most of what you need, and a 60 only if you will actually use it.

Milled Grind 5 or Hi-Toe 5?

Milled Grind 5 for full shots and control from the fairway. Hi-Toe 5 if you play a lot of open-face shots around the green or spend time in soft sand.
