Description

The Srixon ZXiU Utility Iron is a long iron replacement built for players who want more launch and forgiveness without giving up a blade-like look, in a shape tour pros put in the bag too.

Our Take

  • This is aimed at the gap a lot of iron sets leave open: the 3 and 4 iron nobody can actually hit consistently. If that's you, this replaces them rather than sitting alongside them.
  • The blade-like shape with moderate offset means it still looks and feels like an iron at address, not a mini fairway wood, which matters if you're fussy about what's in the bag next to your scoring irons.
  • If you're already comfortable with long irons and just want more ball speed, check this against a strong-lofted fairway wood too. The utility iron trades a little forgiveness on mishits for a flatter, more penetrating flight.

Key Features

High-Toe Forging. Extra forging through the top of the blade and the high-toe area builds in strength where long irons take the most abuse, without adding bulk that would make it look like a hybrid.

Internal Face Structure. A grid of precision-milled channels behind the face lets the whole face flex together at impact, so ball speed holds up even when you don't catch it dead centre.

Turf-Interaction Sole. Sole width and bounce are shaped to glide through fairway, rough, and light sand rather than dig, which helps on the shots where a long iron is normally punished for a slightly heavy strike.

Tour-Guided Profile. Shaping was refined with tour player feedback into a thinner topline than the previous generation, so it sits at address like a players iron rather than a game-improvement club.

Forged in Japan. The face and body are forged at Endo, a forging house known specifically for how it finishes iron feel, not just iron strength.

The Tech

FEEL. SPEED. POWER. ZXiU Utility Irons are powerful long iron replacements, even among tour pros, featuring signature Srixon feel, higher launch, and excellent forgiveness in a blade-like design with moderate offset.

i-FORGED. Condensed Forging stretching from the high-toe area and along the topline of the iron blade enhances overall strength, durability, and feel. Then the forged faces on ZX1U are softened to improve this already exceptional feel.

MAINFRAME iQ. MainFrame iQ is a variable-thickness network of grooves, channels, and notches precision milled into the back of every ZX15, ZX15+, and ZX1U Utility Iron face. At impact, these features flex together to maximize energy transfer for more speed, more consistently, across the face.

TOUR V.T. SOLE. Srixon's Tour V.T. Sole takes turf interaction to a whole new level of detail with a proprietary combination of sole widths, bounce angles, and notches. This technology encourages a smooth glide through fairway, rough, and sand without losing speed, even if you enter the turf slightly behind the ball.

REFINED PLAYERS SHAPING. Guided by Srixon's tour staff, every new ZX1 Iron has been refined for a cleaner, more exacting profile, featuring slightly thinner toplines than the previous generation.

PRECISION FORGING BY ENDO. Every new ZX1 Iron face and body are forged at Japan's premier forging house: Endo, the gold standard in iron forging. A place that refuses to compromise on feel.
