TaylorMade P 790 Phantom Black Irons

TaylorMade introduces its eye-catching P 790 Phantom Black irons. The elegant looking mid-high launching irons feature a black PVD finish—it's a premium look that is sure to attract much interest.

Delve inside P 790 and you will find a range of technologies that present even more attention. TayorMade technicians engineered the company’s SpeedFoam™ Air 69% lighter than the previous model. The weight savings of 3.5g were redistributed within the clubhead for improved launch conditions. The change in mass properties means P 790 irons deliver a sweet sound and solid feel at impact.

P 790 irons feature a new 8620 carbon steel construction that allowed engineers to craft the clubhead thinner by up to 37.5% in specific locations for a lower center of gravity. This new thin-walled design works in unison with a forged 4140 steel L-Face to optimise ball speeds and distances. TaylorMade adopted new construction methods to thin out the body of the new P 790 model. This advanced crafting allowed engineers to place up to 31g of tungsten in the toe for greater clubhead stability and forgiveness.

TaylorMade’s supremely successful Thru-Slot Speed Pocket adds face flexibility and provides more ball speed and distance on low face strikes. Phantom Black enjoys a larger sweet spot by up to 60% when compared to the original P 790 model. The intelligent sweet spot covers the area lower on the face for greater performance where golfers need it most.
