Forged Pro Wedges
The short game is the scoring game! Welcome to PING Forged Pro Wedges—the tour-inspired wedges are the company’s latest arrival and they are specifically designed to improve your game around the greens.
PING engineers worked with the brand’s Tour staff and ambassadors to produce wedges that offered a ‘look’ that will help any golfer save shots in their short game. After all, having the confidence to pull off any shot begins with the club setting up perfectly when it’s positioned behind the ball. They agreed on a design that presented a compact shape. Glide Forged Pro Wedges offer a smaller heel-to-toe head that is forged from carbon steel.
The neat-looking wedges contain a precision-milled face and grooves. These features are combined with the new Emery face blast to deliver the ultimate in game improvement. The Emery face blast creates additional texture on the face of each club to provide greater friction between the club and the ball for improved spin. The lower lofted 50- and 52-degree wedges include wheel-cut grooves to optimise the performance on full shots. While, the higher lofted 54- to 62-degree wedges feature milled grooves with a tighter radius to create more spin on finesse shots and from the sand. Plus, the hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish enables higher spin and lower launch from wet and rough conditions.
PING adopted two grind options to help golfers choose a wedge the best suit their playing conditions and attack angle. The ‘S’ Grind offers the combination of a moderate bounce and a rounded leading edge. This option will fit most golfers and is available in seven loft/ bounce configurations. The ‘T’ Grind is designed with a narrower sole and approximately 3 degrees less bounce than the ‘S’ Grind. The ‘T’ Grind is more versatile around the green and comes in three lofts.
