Footwear pioneer adidas introduces its latest lightweight performance golf shoe with the release of ZG23. The brand’s newest model builds on the success of ZG21, which was launched two years ago. ZG23 enjoys a redesigned outsole and upper to offer golfers increased comfort, stability and traction.
Just ask any golfer—comfort and stability are important features of all footwear. After all, golfers spend many hours on end covering all types of terrains in all sorts of weather conditions. ZG23 boasts LIGHTSTRIKE and LIGHTSTRIKE PRO technology—it’s a unique cushioning system that offers golfers superior comfort and optimal stability from its revamped midsole. LIGHTSTRIKE encompasses the perimeter/ frame of the midsole to offer more lateral stability. LIGHTSTRIKE PRO is used inside the shoe’s frame to deliver superb cushioning and comfort while walking and swinging a golf club.
ZG23 adopts ULTRA-LIGHT STABILITY FIN for more lateral stability and support during the golf swing. This technology, which adidas released in ZG21, has evolved to a 3D shape that wraps onto the upper and sits closer to the foot. This upgrade will help golfers feel more stable as their weight shifts throughout the golf swing. ULTRA-LIGHT STABILITY FIN will benefit a variety of swing speeds, from amateurs to tour professionals.
D-TRAXION is the feature of ZG23 to offer superior grip across a variety of conditions. The six-cleat design was formed after adidas researchers studied the golf swings of its tour professionals and used heat maps to ascertain where pressure is loaded under the foot. Engineers developed an algorithm to precisely define the location and height of traction for all lugs.
ZG23’s upper features SPRINTSKIN. This lightweight and waterproof technology is a four-layer material that combines innovative textiles and polyurethane films for advanced performance.
ZG23 will come in five models: men’s and women’s laced, men’s and women’s BOA®, and a simplified laced offering for junior golfers.
