Minjee Lee Scores 10th LPGA Tour Title

Australia’s Minjee Lee marked her milestone 10th LPGA Tour win at the birthplace of her parents with victory at the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea. The 27-year-old overcame America’s Alison Lee with a birdie at the first playoff hole. The stunning victory capped off a remarkable week for the Lee family after her brother Min Woo collected a record-breaking wire-to-wire victory at the Macau Open seven days ago.

Lee, who won the Kroger Queen City Championship last month, got to 16-under at Seowon Valley Country Club near Seoul with rounds of 64, 69, 71 and 68. The world No. 7’s final round of 4-under included five birdies. Her US namesake made clutch birdies at the final two holes to reach the playoff. Lee closed with a 5-under 67.

Defending champion Lydia Ko claimed solo third place at 14-under. The New Zealander signed for a 3-under 69 final round. Last week’s winner Angel Yin carded a 5-under 67 on Sunday to finish outright fourth.

The LPGA Tour moves to Malaysia for next week’s Maybank Championship to be staged at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club.
