Koepka Makes LIV Golf History

Brooks Koepka won LIV Orlando to become the first player in the breakaway tour’s history to collect two individual LIV titles. The 32-year-old American’s maiden LIV Golf victory was at Jeddah in October last year where he overcame Peter Uihlein with a birdie at the third playoff hole. Koepka heads to Augusta National in sight of donning his first Green Jacket. The four-time major winner finished T2 at The Masters in 2019.

Koepka edged Sebastian Munoz by one shot at Orange County National. The pair enjoyed a tight tussle over the closing stretch with Koepka making a nervy five-foot par putt at the final green for the win. Munoz closed the margin to one shot at the 16th hole where he holed a stunning pitch shot from behind the green for a birdie.

Koepka added a final round 3-under 68 to earlier scores of 65 and 65 to reach 15-under. Munoz, who opened the event with a superb 9-under 62, carded an even par 71 on Saturday before closing with a 5-under 66 to get to 14-under. South Africa’s Dean Burmester took a share of third place with America’s Patrick Reed at 12-under. Burmester produced the best score on Sunday with a 7-under 64 that included six birdies and one eagle. Reed was a model of consistency all event carding scores of 4-under 67 in all three rounds.

Australians Jed Morgan (67), Marc Leishman (68) and Cameron Smith (71) finished mid-field at 5-under.

Torque Golf Club won the Teams event at 36-under by one-shot over Smash Golf Club. Torque’s four-player unit includes Joaquin Niemann, Sebastian Munoz, Mito Pereira and David Puig.

The LIV Golf Tour moves to Australia for LIV Golf Adelaide to be staged at The Grange Golf Club from April 21 - 23.
