Jon Rahm LIVing It Up

Golf’s worst kept secret is out! Reigning Masters champion Jon Rahm becomes the latest major champion to join the LIV Golf Tour in a deal reported to be worth around AUD$900 Million over three years. The 29-year-old Spaniard announced his decision to move to the Saudi-backed breakaway tour on Friday after weeks of speculation. Speaking with the media, Rahm said. “I made this decision because I believe it’s the best for me and my family. Everybody I’ve been able to talk to has been really supportive of me, so I’m very comfortable with my decision.”

The world No. 3 used social media to voice that he is looking forward to bringing growth to the game and his role in the 54-hole format.

The news is great for Australian golf fans! The addition of Rahm to LIV Adelaide will make the 2024 edition arguably the strongest field ever to gather down under. Rahm last played in Australian in 2016 ranked 120th in the world. The marquee name will be one of seven Masters champions in action at The Grange Golf Club.

While the move will significantly enhance the LIV Golf Tour, Rahm’s move is set to shake up the PGA Tour with reports suggesting more players will soon defect to Golf’s newest tour. The past two years has seen the PGA Tour lose some of the game’s best players such as, Cameron Smith, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Keopka, Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau, to name some.

Now the big question is…who is the next big name in golf to move to LIV?
