Golf is a game we love.
We love it for many reasons, it connects us with people and makes us feel good. What is also clear, is that we share the same passion, including the connection and helping of others through this great game. In early October, we ran our Balls & Gloves For Good campaign which we aimed to raise $10,000, so no person has to face their days alone. For every glove and dozen golf balls you purchased, we donated $4, and thanks to you, we raised an incredible $23,672!
This means you helped Lifeline to be able to answer over 600 calls for help – help for those in crisis, seeking hope and needing to be heard. At a time when demand for Lifeline services is at an all-time high, the Drummond golfing community has rallied, so that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
And for that, Drummond Golf, Lifeline and help seekers, thank you. The Christmas period often highlights how difficult it can be for many.
Last year, Lifeline received over 98,000 calls in December—a record for that time of year. And, New Year's Day was the busiest day in its almost 60-year history, with 3,726 calls to Lifeline. It’s sobering to think that of all the hardships we’ve faced over the past few years – the festive season remains overwhelming for so many.
We hope you can continue to support our partnership with Lifeline through the many initiatives we have planned, including our Golf Fore A Cause initiative and our commitment to donate $250,000 over three years.
From the staff at Drummond Golf and all our locally owned stores, we thank you for your support - it could be life-changing!
