2021/22 Sanderson Farms Championship
Sam Burns enjoyed his second win on the PGA Tour after claiming the Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi.
The 25-year-old American scored a one-shot victory and added the win to his maiden PGA Tour title gained in May at the Valspar Championship. Burns fired all four rounds in the 60s at the Country Club of Jackson carding 68, 66, 65 and 67 to reach 22-under. It was the lowest four round total recorded at the layout at this event.
Burns, who is a Callaway Staff Ambassador, produced 26 birdies for the week—the second most by any player in the field. The talented rising star led the field in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee, Strokes Gained: Tee to Green and Strokes Gained: Total. The world No. 25 ended the week tied 1st in Greens in Regulation finding the putting surface a remarkable 87.5% on approach. He missed just nine greens in regulation through the 72 holes.
With his win, Burns takes 1st position in the 2021/22 FedExCup standings.
