Drummond Golf Cup VICTORIAN Championship 2023
Robertson & Lowson Grab Last Spots at The Drummond Golf Cup Final
Mary Robertson and Sam Lowson have secured the last remaining places at the Drummond Golf Final after winning the DGC Victorian Championship. A full field of 100 golfers competed for the Victorian title at The Heritage Golf & Country Club over the St John Course on Monday November 6.
Robertson, a 21-marker from Kooringal Golf Club, posted 31 points to win the women's division by one shot over Anne Morgan. The men's divison required a countback to split the three players who topped the leaderboard with 37 points. Sam Lowson got the nod courtesy of the best back nine. Julian Hermans took second place and Christian Wiltshire was third.
Drummond Golf Ambassador Brett Ogle was on hand at the par 3, 11th hole to raise funds for Lifeline Australia. The event raised more than $1000. Sean Weidemann collected the $250 Drummond Gift Card on offer for the nearest-to-the-pin at the difficult 11th hole where 42 balls met with a watery grave. Weidemann knocked his approach to five feet from the cup. Other NTP's include Yong Yang, Brad Gwyther and Michelle Marshall. The longest drives were Lee Anne Stanway and Sam Lowson.
The Drummond Golf Cup has completed the seven State & Territory Championships. Next stop...the Drummond Golf Cup Final at Peninsula-Kingswood Golf Club on December 8.
