Patty Tavatanakit Wins The Honda LPGA Thailand On Home Soil

Patty Tavatanakit scored a narrow one-shot victory at the Honda LPGA Thailand. The 24-year-old held off fast-finishing Albane Valenzuela with a tap in birdie at the 72nd hole. Tavatanakit becomes the second Thai champion at this event following Ariya Jutanugarn‚Äôs success in 2021.

Tavatanakit, ranked 43 in the world, posted rounds of 67, 67, 66 and 67 to reach 21-under at Siam Country Club. It was her second LPGA Tour title and first LPGA Tour victory in 1,057 days. Her previous LPGA Tour win was at a major championship, earning the 2021 Chevron Championship. Although the win marked her return to the winner‚Äôs circle on the LPGA Tours, Tavatanakit has enjoyed recent success on the Ladies European Tour earning victory last week at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International.

Valenzuela, who is a Swiss native, fired a sizzling 9-under 63 final round to set the lowest round of the week. The sensational round included one eagle and seven birdies. The 26-year-old finished in solo second place at 20-under.

Sei Young Kim (65) and Hye-Jin Choi (66) took a share of third place at 18-under.

Sarah Kemp and Grace Kim were the best-placed Australians finishing in a tie for 31st place at 8-under.

The LPGA Tour moves to Singapore for next week’s HSBC Women’s World Championship at Sentosa Golf Club.
