PGA & WPGA TOURS OF AUSTRALASIA
Kobori Wins Third Webex Players Series Title
Kazuma Kobori is fast becoming one of the golfers to watch in 2024! The 22-year-old rising star scored a narrow one-shot victory at the Webex Players Series Sydney for his third win on the PGA Tour of Australasia this summer. The New Zealander, who was born in Japan, added his latest win at Castle Hill Golf Club to victories during January at Webex events; Murray River and Victoria.
Kabori now boasts a record that matches Tiger Woods! Both players collected three wins after just 10 starts as a professional.
Kobori fired rounds of 65, 64, 69 and 66 to reach 24-under and finish one shot clear of Korea’s Jenny Shin. The LPGA Tour winner produced a birdie at the final hole to post a final round 5-under 67 to get to 23-under. The 31-year-old opened the event with a stunning 9-under 63.
Tour veteran Brendan Jones finished solo third at 22-under. The 48-year-old fired an impressive 7-under 65 on Sunday that included a string of five consecutive birdies from the 5th hole.
Cameron Pollard, from New South Wales, took out the All Abilities title after finishing 8-over. Harry Whitelock won the Junior competition with an emphatic 11-shot victory. The 16-year-old from Royal Canberra got to 9-under for the two days.
