Green & Herbert Produce Top 5 Results
Australia’s Hannah Green and Lucas Herbert produced a T3 and T5 performance on Sunday on their respective tours. The wonderful results wrap up a successful weekend for Australian golf, with Cam Smith winning the LIV Golf Tour’s Chicago Invitational. Harrison Endycott finished T12 at the PGA Tour’s Fortinet Championship.
Green, aged 25 from Western Australia, fired a final round 5-under 67 to get to 17-under at the Portland Classic. The two-time LPGA Tour winner was looking for her second win at the event after claiming the Portland Classic in 2019. Green finished two shots back from America’s Andrea Lee.
Herbert was competing at the DS Automobiles Italian Open at Marco Simone Golf Club near Rome. The 26-year-old from Bendigo carded a final round 3-under 68 to reach 11-under. Herbert, who was searching for his third European Tour title, finished three shots behind Robert MacIntyre and Matt Fitzpatrick with MacIntyre winning in a playoff.
