Cheang & White Book Their Place at The Drummond Golf Cup Final

Phalika Cheang and Jeremy White collected wins at the Drummond Golf Cup NSW Championship on November 3 at Macquarie Links. The pair from Sydney will head to Melbourne for the Drummond Golf Cup Final to be staged at Peninsula-Kingswood Golf Club on December 8.

Cheang is no stranger to the winner's circle at Drummond Golf events. The Moor Park member won the NSW State Championship in 2018 and contested the final at King Island taking second place. Cheang, playing off a handicap of 16, scored 37 points to produce a comfortable win in the women's division over Mirta Sadd (32) and Jude Richardson (32).

The result in the men's division was tight with White winning on a countback from Sean Wolridge. The pair posted 40 points. Andrew Wilkins and Andrew Kelly tallied 39 points each. White, a member at Twin Creeks with a hanicap of two, covered the Macquarie Links layout with an impressive 2-under off the stick.

Drummond Golf Ambassador Brett Ogle was on hand at the par 3, 11th hole to raise funds for Lifeline Australia. The event raised nearly $800. Joshua Cooke collected the $250 Drummond Gift Card on offer for the nearest-to-the-pin at the GFAC 11th hole. Other NTP's include Ryan Clarke, Jin Park and Stuart Nelson. The event winners Phalika Cheang and Jeremy White won the the longest drive contests.

The Drummond Golf Cup heads to Melbourne for the last of the State Championships. The Drummond Golf Cup Victorian Championship will be staged at The Heritage Golf & Country Club on Monday November 6.
