Caitlin Cotterill and Josh Constable Fire At Queensland Championship

Low-markers, Caitlin Cotterill and Josh Constable produced sizzling scores to win the Drummond Golf Cup Queensland Championship on July 28. Staged at the beautiful Brookwater Golf Club, Cotterill and Constable manoeuvred their way around the undulating layout with ease en route to smashing their respective handicaps at the individual stableford event.

Cotterill, playing off the daily handicap of six, won the Women‚Äôs title with 45 points. The 24-year-old spent time in the US College system under a golf scholarship. Constable, with his handicap of five, carded 41 points. The world-acclaimed professional longboard surfrider secured a comfortable victory in the Men‚Äôs division. As state champions, the pair have made their way through to the Drummond Golf Cup Final to be staged at Peninsula Kingswood Golf Club in December. Gaye Henderson and George English finished runner up in their respective categories.

Drummond Golf Ambassador Brett Ogle was on hand at the par 3, 5th hole to raise funds for Lifeline Australia. The event raised more than $800. Bill Traynor, Robert Miller, Reg Hutchinson and Ricky Habermann each won a nearest-to-the-pin at the four short holes. Caitlin Cotterill and Zac Sales collected the longest drive prize at the par 5, 13th hole.

The Drummond Golf Cup moves to Hobart on October 13 for the Drummond Golf Cup Tasmania Championship to be staged at Claremont Golf Club.
