PGA TOUR PREVIEW

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. DJ Withdraws

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am celebrates its 75th anniversary on the PGA Tour. The celebrity-style event was originally titled the Bing Crosby National Pro-Amateur.

Due to COVID-19, amateurs will not be competing this year. The tournament will be played over two courses—Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course. Typically, the event is staged over three layouts.

The 156-man field includes Phil Mickelson, who is pushing for a record sixth title at this event. Jordan Spieth will look to back up his return to form last week at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The former world No. 1 scored a victory here in 2017 and has made the cut in each of his previous eight starts in this event. Other players of note are major champions Jason Day and Francesco Molinari, plus recent winners Paul Casey and Patrick Cantlay.

Latest News
World No. 1 Dustin Johnson has withdrawn from this year’s event. Johnson, who collected the Saudi International last week, has decided to overcome jet lag by resting up at home before embarking on back-to-back starts at The Genesis Invitational and World Golf Championships at The Concession. Johnson is a two-time AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am winner (2009 & 2010).

Defending Champion
Canada’s Nick Taylor returns to the scene of his second PGA Tour title. The then 31-year-old began the final round with a one shot lead over America’s Phil Mickelson. Taylor shot a final round 70 in gusty conditions to score a four-shot win over Kevin Streelman.
